June 5th 2003

June's Block Watch meeting was conducted at the Cheviot Police Department.

A tour of the police facilities was given. The equiptment and weapons used by the police department were also on display.

Two of these weapons, the beanbag gun and taser, were highlighted. These weapons offer the police officers an alternative to deadly force. Two examples of Cheviot officers using these weapons to save lives were discussed.

Vacation safety was discussed, and handouts giving safety tips were given to the attendees.

A block party in August was discussed, and information will follow.
